Budapest Dialog is a participatory urban development site, where local citizens and stakeholders can share their projects and development plans. Based on an interactive map, the portal helps to channel citizens’ development proposals to local governments and facilitate participatory planning processes.
Mostly top-down projects are dominant, initiated by local governments. In the beginning it was more bottom-up, but they tried to clear their profile, because Járókelő (Streetwalker) had similar functions, thus having overlapping focus. They don’t lobby that much anymore as initially, instead top-down local government projects are the main focus.
